GOOD TO KNOW

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about our coffee, our roasting and the cause behind the brand. If your question is not here, get in touch.

Why Ethiopian coffee?

Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, and the only place on earth where Coffea arabica still grows wild. High-altitude farms and careful processing produce Arabica beans with exceptional character, which is why we source every COFFEE+ roast from Ethiopian growing communities.

Where is your coffee roasted?

Every batch is small-batch roasted in British Columbia, Canada. We roast to order, so your coffee reaches you at peak freshness rather than after months sitting in a warehouse.

How does COFFEE+ support the Canadian Cancer Society?

We donate 10% of our profits to the Canadian Cancer Society, supporting research, advocacy and support programs across Canada. You can read more on our Our Impact page.

Can I choose whole bean or ground?

Yes. Every roast is offered as whole bean or ground. Choose your preference on the product page before adding to cart. If you have a grinder, whole bean will always give you a better cup, because coffee begins losing its aromatics within minutes of grinding.

What sizes do you offer?

Each roast is available in 12 oz and 2 lb bags. The 12 oz is a good place to start if you are trying a roast for the first time; the 2 lb is better value for a household that gets through coffee quickly.

Do you ship across Canada?

Yes, we ship Canada-wide. Shipping is free on orders over $60. Delivery times, rates and everything else are set out on our Shipping & Returns page.

How long will my order take to arrive?

We roast your coffee once your order comes in, then send it on its way. Standard delivery across Canada usually takes 3 to 7 business days from there. Remote and northern addresses can take longer. Current timings are listed on our Shipping & Returns page.

What if my order arrives damaged or is not right?

Get in touch and we will make it right. Because coffee is a consumable, our returns work a little differently from most products, so please read the details on our Shipping & Returns page or contact us directly.

How is your decaf made?

De Joy Vu is gently decaffeinated using a water-based process, without chemical solvents. It keeps the aroma, body and balance of the original coffee, with virtually all of the caffeine removed.

How should I store my coffee?

Keep your beans in an airtight container at room temperature, away from light and heat. Skip the fridge and the freezer, where moisture dulls the flavour. For the best cup, grind just before you brew.

How fresh will my coffee be when it arrives?

We roast to order, so your coffee is freshly roasted when it ships. Coffee is at its best in the first few weeks after roast date, so we would rather send you a smaller bag more often than a large one that sits.

Do you offer wholesale or corporate orders?

We would like to hear from cafes, offices and organizations interested in larger or recurring orders. Get in touch through our contact page and we will come back to you.
